A court trial date was scheduled and attorneys discussed pending motions during a status hearing held Friday in Highland County Common Pleas Court in a civil suit against the city of Greenfield, filed by its former law director.
Conrad Curren, who was terminated as the Greenfield Law Director in October 2008, filed the case in January alleging that members of council conspired together to seek his termination from the city. Curren is seeking nearly $40,000 in total damages.

A pretrial hearing was held Friday for a Sardinia man charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.
Mickey Berry, 24, was indicted in March on the third-degree felony count, stemming from a September 2010 car crash that killed one and left others injured.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that on Sept. 17, the post responded to a three-car crash on state Route 138.

A judge has said students who may be asked to testify during a hearing regarding an administrative appeal on disciplinary action from the Lynchburg-Clay Local Schools need to be informed of the possible criminal ramifications of their testimony. The judge advised they speak to criminal attorneys. ..."At least part of the case was presented to the prosecutor," Judge Crawford said. "There are some allegations ... that (would be) a felony of the first degree."
