The James Stitching Sisters seventh annual quilt day was held on April 2 at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Columbus. Four area ladies were part of the 171 volunteers who worked 1,310 hours.

Marion "Red" Wylie, 89, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Edgewood Manor in Greenfield.

The Building Bridges 4-H Club held their fourth meeting of the year at the Leesburg Fire Department on May 14.

Richard Wayne Wilson, 68, died  Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Hospice of Middletown.

Phyllis A. Abdon, 75, of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at her residence near Hillsboro.

Mrs. Sara Watts of Greenfield has established a scholarship for Fairfield High School graduates in memory of her husband, David A. Watts.  The 2011 scholarship was given to Kate Jones who plans to attend Wilmington College and major in psychology.
