'Ed Bousman, Lynchburg, Ohio, signing off'
A man whose voice and message that "God is just a prayer away" for more than 50 years has died, leaving a legacy of serving God and spreading his message to the masses.
Ed Bousman, a Lynchburg resident whose radio ministry reached Christians worldwide, died Monday morning after a long illness, according to friends and neighbors. His message was broadcast over 700 AM WLW, and many other stations, every Sunday. 
Daniels resigns as Greenfield finance director
Greenfield finance director Karen Daniels has resigned, effectively immediately, according to Greenfield City Manager Betty Bishop.
  Bishop told The Highland County Press that Daniels handed in her resignation Monday, and spoke with her regarding her decision. Bishop said Daniels did not specify why she was resigning, but indicated it was something she needed to do personally.

Three Southern State Community College students were awarded bachelor’s degrees at a commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 8. However, the degrees awarded were not from Southern State Community College, but rather from Franklin University in Columbus.

Mary Louise Vandiver, 70, of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Highland District Hospital.
Counter sworn in as county recorder
Greenfield resident Richard Counter was sworn in Monday afternoon as the Highland County Recorder.
  Highland County Common Pleas Court Juvenile and Probate Court Judge Kevin Greer administered the oath of office to Counter, and said that he had big shoes to fill in following Ike Hodson in office, but he is sure Counter is up to the task.
