The Hillsboro Christian Academy Lady Crusaders hosted Senior Night against the Wilmington Christian Academy Lady Lions on Oct. 3.

The Lady Crusaders fell to the Lady Lions in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-23. Hillsboro Christian Academy paid homage to the three seniors on the volleyball team, Emma Gorman, Emma Robb and Nevada Warner, prior to the game.

Freshman Alanna Stoltzfus led the Lady Crusaders in assists with four and playable passes with 38. Sophomore Taylor Barber led in aces and serves in play with two and five respectively. Junior Carlee Puckett led the team in kills with three. Warner and Robb each finished with four hits in play for the Lady Crusaders.

The Lady Crusaders lost the first two sets of the game in quick fashion to the Lady Lions who are undefeated in conference play this season. The third set, however, was hotly contested by the Lady Crusaders. The Lady Crusaders began the set with a six point lead thanks to Barber’s serving. The lead continued to pass back and forth between the two teams for the remainder of the set. The Lady Lions earned the final two points of the set to take the 3-0 sweep in the game.

The Lady Crusaders now look to take on the Adams County Christian School Lady Eagles on Oct. 5 for their next game on the road. The Lady Crusaders will have just this one more game before their next tournament at Fayette Christian School on Oct. 6-7.
