By
Ohio State Highway Patrol, Press Release

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the City of Mason Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Department of Transportation, conducted an OVI checkpoint on U.S. 42 south of Donna Jean Boulevard, in the City of Mason, Warren County, on July 12 from 8-10 p.m.

Lieutenant Chad Smith, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post, reported that a total of 310 vehicles were checked passing through the checkpoint. Of those vehicles, seven were diverted for additional testing, and two drivers were arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and its partners would like to remind motorists, if you plan on consuming alcohol, designate a sober driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless act of driving intoxicated.
