Ohio Civil Rights Commission to present 2024 OCRC Academy
The Ohio Civil Rights Commission is excited to announce that The 2024 OCRC Academy is back by popular demand.
Please join us for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission’s OCRC Academy, a free two-day event, scheduled for Dec. 4 and 5. (The OCRC Academy has been approved for 7.5 CLE hours credit.)
Dealing with administrative law and an administrative agency can be confusing and seemcomplex to many professionals. It is an area of legal practice covered very little in law school or in HR courses. However, many labor and employment attorneys and human resources practitioners need to hone their ability to navigate the law and agencies throughout much of their career.
This academy is designed to provide an introduction to the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. The various departments relevant to the legal practitioner will be reviewed, and OCRC’s goals, policies, practices and legal approached to Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4112, Ohio’s civil rights law, will be explored and discussed.
The final day concludes with a practical experience exercise placing the attendee in the seat of an OCRC employee to provide hands-on experience dealing with the concepts discussed in the training sessions.
Attendees will learn about the inner workings of OCRC, which in turn, will allow the attendees to develop proper legal explanations, increase interactive expectations and better understand case management requirements.
