Ohio Department of Health, Press Release

Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Director Bruce Vanderhoff, MD, MBA, Friday sent a letter to the state’s healthcare leaders and stakeholders, outlining ODH’s leadership on a coordinated statewide effort to monitor levels of intravenous (IV) solution after Hurricane Helene damage to a Baxter International manufacturing plant in North Carolina caused disruptions to the national IV solutions supply chain.

On Oct. 1, ODH was notified of the potential for IV fluid shortages in Ohio and across the country. ODH immediately and actively began working with partners at the regional, state and national level.

Dr. Vanderhoff’s letter provides recent updates on the state’s work, as well as developments from Baxter and the federal government.

The letter can be found on the ODH website here: https://odh.ohio.gov/media-center/odh-news-releases/odh-news-release-10….
