Lions fall to Middletown Christian

The Fairfield Lions lost a non-conference game on Thursday, falling to the visiting Middletown Christian team by a 3-0 score at FHS.

The loss sent FHS to an overall record of 4-12.

After falling to the North Adams Green Devils by a 3-0 score Friday, the Lions finished their SHAC season with a record of 3-5.

Fairfield defeats visiting Jackson

The Fairfield Lady Lions gained a non-conference win Thursday at Fairfield High School by defeating the visiting Jackson Ironladies by a 1-0 score.

Scoring the goal for the Lady Lions was Rilee Quickle, as she gained the rebound off a shot attempt off the post by Ava Hooper for the assist.

Fairfield’s victory moved them to 12-4 overall.

Fallowing a 0-0 tie with North Adams Friday night in their final SHAC game, the Lady Lions finish 4-1-1 in conference play.

Lynchburg-Clay ties with Western Brown

Hosting the Western Brown Lady Broncos on Thursday in a non-conference game, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs finished in a 2-2 tie after 80 minutes of play.

The Lady Mustangs had goals scored by Caitlyn Collins and Aubrey Slack. One assist was credited to Caraline West.

The tied score leaves the Lady Mustangs with an overall record of 9-5-2 this season.

LCHS has one regular-season game left on the schedule as they will travel to face Grandview Heights Saturday at noon.

Mustangs shut out Broncos with 4-goal win

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs continued their streak of keeping their opponents scoreless, as for the third consecutive game the Mustangs held their opponent to no goals, defeating the Western Brown Broncos at home by a 4-0 score.

The Mustangs had two goals from Noah Bitzer and one goal each scored by Cody Bell and Braedon West.

At goal for the shutout was Isaac Eyre.

LC’s current three-game streak of shutting out opponents has seen them keep Fairfield, North Adams and now WBHS off the scoreboard, all while outscoring those three opponents by a combined 14-0 total.

This season, the Mustangs have shut out their opponents 10 times in 17 games played.

The Mustangs are finished with the regular season and next will play in the postseason district tournament on Thursday, Oct. 17 at home against a TBA opponent with a 6 p.m. start.

Wildcats gain win over Wellston

Thursday saw the Whiteoak defeat the visiting Wellston Rockets by a 4-1 score in non-conference play.

The Wildcats had four goals from four different players, as goals were scored by Adrionna Phillips, Shawn Mitchell-Cox, Tre Lamb and Tyler Wessner.

Assists went to Phillips and Kenyon Hughes.

Jackson Tedford collected eight saves in the win.

Whiteoak now stands at 10-6-0 overall, and they finished with a SHAC record of 3-5-0.

WHS will next play in the postseason on Thursday, Oct. 17 against Peebles at PHS with a 5 p.m. start.

Indians shut out Falcons for home victory

The Hillsboro Indians faced a former conference opponent in non-conference action on Thursday, defeating the visiting Clinton-Massie Falcons by a 3-0 score.

The Indians scored two goals in the first half and added one more goal in the second half.

For HHS, two goals were scored by Wesley Bailey and one goal was scored by Tate Davis, both seniors. Each player also had an assist.

The Indians totaled 15 shots in the win.

At goal was Ryan Fender with seven saves.

Hillsboro ends the regular season with a 12-5 overall record, and in the FAC they finished 5-3.

Next for HHS is a postseason game Thursday, Oct. 17 on the road at Athens with a 7:45 start at AHS.
