A Leesburg woman indicted in connection with a Highland County Task Force case a year and a half ago was sentenced recently to community control.

Amy Rickman, 38, was indicted in June 2023 on charges of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a fourth-degree felony, and aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

The indictment remained sealed, or kept secret, until August 2024 when Rickman was served a copy of a warrant and arrested, according to court records.

Rickman pleaded guilty to the trafficking charge in October, with the possession charge dismissed. The indictment for that count alleged that on or about Nov. 21, 2022, Rickman “did knowingly sell or offer to sell” meth.

During a sentencing hearing Nov. 6, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss ordered Rickman to serve three years of community control and to successfully complete substance use disorder treatment and recommended aftercare. Rickman was also ordered to pay $40 in restitution to the Task Force.
