Leesburg man sentenced for failure to register change of address
A Leesburg man was sentenced to prison recently after pleading guilty to failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender.
Donald Hostetter, 47, was indicted on the third-degree felony charge by a Highland County grand jury in January.
The indictment alleged that on or about Oct. 22 and continuing thereafter, Hostetter “failed to provide notice of any change of address within 20 days by written notice.” According to the indictment, Hostetter has “a duty to register semiannually and 20 days before an address change and within three days of an address change” as a tier II registered sex offender.
Hostetter was previously convicted of a fourth-degree felony charge of failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender in 2020, according to an amendment to the indictment.
According to court records, Hostetter pleaded guilty to the charge Feb. 4, less than one month after his indictment. Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Hostetter to 24 months in prison, with jail time credit of 46 days.
Hostetter is currently incarcerated in the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
