February is Financial Aid Awareness Month. To celebrate, Southern State will host FAFSA walk-in clinics on Wednesday afternoons throughout the month aimed at helping current and prospective students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming academic year.
FAFSA is an essential step for students seeking financial aid, including grants, work-study opportunities, and federal student loans. The College’s walk-in clinics are open to all students, whether they are first-time FAFSA filers or need assistance with renewing their applications.
Key Details:
Dates: Feb. 5, Feb. 12, Feb. 19, and Feb. 26
Time: 3-5 p.m.
Location: Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro, OH 45133
No Appointment Necessary: Students can stop by during walk-in hours, as mentioned above.
Financial aid professionals will be available to answer questions, provide guidance on required documents, and ensure that applications are completed accurately and on time. Participants are encouraged to bring their FSA ID and asset information.
“We understand that the FAFSA process can be overwhelming, especially for first-time applicants. Our goal is to provide hands-on, personalized support to ensure that every student has the opportunity to access financial aid and make their educational goals a reality,” said SSCC Financial Aid Director Jaime Simmons.
