MANCHESTER — The Whiteoak Wildcats used tough pitching and scored runs when needed to leave Manchester High School with a Southern Hills League victory, Thursday night. WHS scored runs in four different innings for a 6-4 win over the Greyhounds.
WHS scored two runs in the first and two more in the third, to off-set three runs scored by the Greyhounds, for a 4-3 lead after three innings.
The Wildcats increased their lead to 5-3 with a run in the fifth and added one more in the sixth for a three-run advantage.
Manchester added one run in the bottom of the sixth.
Luke Taggert pitched six innings to gain his first win of the season. Taggert (1-1) allowed three earned runs on eight hits and four walks. He struck out three batters.
Gage Carraher gained his second save of the season, pitching one inning with no hits and one strikeout.
At the plate, Michael Carraher went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run. Michael Smith finished 2-for-3 with two runs. Taggert finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run.
