Wildcats run-rule G-Men in shutout win

MOWRYSTOWN - The Whiteoak Wildcats have entered the final week of the reagular season on a tear. After clinching the top spot in the Southern Hills League (Division II) they easily defeated non-league foe Georgetown 10-0 in five innings Tuesday, at Whiteoak High School.
Whiteoak (11-13) scored five combined runs in the first three innings, with four coming in the first and one in the third.
WHS added two in the fourth and finished off the G-Men with a three-run fifth to seal the win.
Luke Taggert gained his first win of the seson on the hill for the Wildcats. Taggert (1-3) pitched the complete five inning shutout, allowing two hits and one walk. He finished with seven strikeouts.
Gage Carraher led the Wildcats at the plate with a 2-for-3 effort. Carraher hit a double, while gaining three runs and one RBI.
Ethan Eyre finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run. Jesse Bradds had one hit and two RBIs. Teammate Michael Carraher also had one hit and two RBIs.
"We had a solid team approach (Tuesday)," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "There were no errors and we had good situational hitting.
"Luke was very solid on the mound for us and he continues to grow into a solid front line pitcher for us. Gage Carraher impressive day at the plate."
The win lifts WHS to 11-13 overall. WHS is scheduled to face Blanchester in their next game at WHS.
