Lady 'Cats fall in sectionals
Lead Summary

McDermott — In what Whiteoak head coach Mike Cooper said was one of his team's best games of the season, the Lady 'Cats left everything on the court Monday evening, but in the end a win wasn't meant to be. WHS dropped their Division IV SE District Sectional opener Western Latham, 60-53 in overtime.
"This was a tough loss," Cooper said. "Turnovers late really hurt us, and we missed a lot of open shots in the game."
Leading WHS was Haley Bingamon with 23 points, playing her final game for the Lady 'Cats. Junior Jessie Gilliland finished with 10 points.
"It was a game of runs, and Latham had the last one," Cooper said. "Brooke (Burns) fouled out in overtime, and that really hurt us.
"I'm proud of the seniors and all the work they put in this year."[[In-content Ad]]
