Lady 'Cats fall to Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — Unable to generate a consistent string of hits, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats dropped a Southern Hills League game on Thursday, falling to the Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 7-1 at Fayetteville High School.
The lone run by Whiteoak came in the top of the fourth inning when Jayde Parr rounded the bases. She initially took to the base with a lead-off walk and moved to second and third bases on two wild pitches by the Lady Rockets. She scored the run on a base hit by Mikayla Burns.
For the game, WHS tallied three total hits with the aforementioned hit by Burns, along with a first-inning double by Kiley Sosby and a single by Morgan Miller.
As for the host Lady Rockets, they scored two runs in the second, added two more in the third and for good measure added three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Defensively, the Lady 'Cats committed eight errors, with some of those miscues leading to runs.
Sosby was charged with the loss, as she allowed seven runs (four earned) on 10 hits and no walks, while striking out six batters.
The win moves Fayetteville to 10-2 in the SHL, as they are in second place in the Southern Hills League, Division II. They are two games behind Fairfield, who have two league games remaining.
