The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is proud to announce that 40 fellows from Appalachia’s 13 states graduated from its Appalachian Leadership Institute (ALI), a leadership and economic development program for the region’s public, private and nonprofit leaders.

On Friday night, the Fairfield Lions clinched a Southern Hills Athletic Conference championship, winning the Division II title by defeating the West Union 12-0 at Fairfield High School.

A Hocking County man has been charged with 21 felonies, including attempted aggravated murder, for the nonfatal shooting of a sheriff’s deputy and a police K-9 during a standoff in July, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Hocking County Prosecutor Ryan Black announced last week.
