The River States Conference is pleased to announce the selection of Shawnee State University volleyball coach Devan Spriggs as the 2023-24 River States Conference Coach of Character. Spriggs is not only the first coach from Shawnee State to win the award in its nine-year existence, but also the first volleyball coach to do so.

A strong three-day showing by Shawnee State senior golfer Erika Martin allowed the senior from Greenfield, Ohio to claim a fantastic showing inside the top 10 following the third and final day of the River States Conference Championships Tuesday for the eight women's golf programs that competed for the conference crown in 2024 — with Martin's three-day score of 255 placing the senior inside the top 10 and allowing the lead golfer to pick up Second-Team All-RSC accolades as a result.

Lynchburg-Clay senior Sarah McKinney recently signed a letter of intent to bowl at Shawnee State University, where she plans to major in education.

After breaking even in their final two matches Oct. 16, SSU Rocket League has finished their esports regular season in first place. This performance earned them a total 5-1 record in regional play and will be appearing in the NACE national tournament beginning Nov. 6.
