Southern State will host a series of professional development courses open to the public. The first session begins Feb. 28, 2024, and registration is required.

On Feb. 7 at 6 p.m., the Adams, Brown, Clermont and Highland County Farm Bureaus, in collaboration with Paul Hall & Associates, will host a “Land As Your Legacy” program at Southern State Community College’s Mt. Orab campus. 

The Eagle and Condor Fest is a one-day event focused on community healing, unity and empowerment with 20-plus vendors, 22 workshops under three tents, ceremonies, children's programs, live music from North and South America, a drum and flow circle with fire spinning and a group Despacho ceremony. This is an opportunity to activate personal divine resonance and ancestral power through the many offerings. The family-friendly, substance-free event takes place Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. at 3297 Snider Malott Rd., Mt. Orab.

Southern State Community College understands that today’s employers are looking for employees who are up-to-date with current technologies and industry-standard certifications. To help fulfill this need, the college currently operates two Certiport® Pearson VUE authorized Test Centers, one at the Central Campus in Hillsboro and one at the Brown County Campus in Mt. Orab.
