The future of America will not be determined solely by politics or artificial intelligence. It will be shaped by whether enough Americans still have the courage to become heroes for one another. As the nation turns 250 years old, perhaps that is the challenge standing before all of us.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Jeremy Bingaman, a native of Lynchburg, Ohio, serves aboard USS Delbert D. Black, a U.S. Navy warship operating out of Mayport, Florida. Bingaman graduated from Lynchburg-Clay High School in 2020.
