The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has named the newest members of its Young Agricultural Professionals State Committee: Katherine and Bill Brown of Stark County, Abby and Blake Campbell of Washington County, Josh Ison of Clermont County and Hannah Thompson of Meigs County.

Shelby Rhodes of Augusta has been named operations coordinator for Ohio Farm Bureau. In her new role, she will be providing administrative support to the organization’s Strategic Partnerships Department, as well as continuing to provide critical support to the Communications Department, and the chief information officer. Additionally, Rhodes will be managing the organization’s fleet program.

The American Farm Bureau Federation County Activities of Excellence awards celebrate unique, local, volunteer-driven programs that serve as models of innovation for local program development. The winning counties, including 12 from Ohio, receive a grant to fund participation in the Farm Bureau CAE Showcase at the 2025 American Farm Bureau Annual Convention & Trade Show Jan. 24-29, in San Antonio.

Blake Adams of Leesburg recently graduated from Ohio Farm Bureau’s AgriPOWER Class XIV. The elite leadership program was started in 2008 to help agricultural advocates gain influence over public policy issues that impact their businesses and communities.

The Ohio Agricultural Mental Health Alliance (OAMHA) is releasing the results of a survey created to ensure Ohio’s farmers, families and communities are better equipped to deal with stress.

Marlene Eick of Wooster was recently named senior director, leadership development for Ohio Farm Bureau. She will manage the leadership development team that operates AgriPOWER, Young Agricultural Professionals, Youth Pathways and Ag Literacy programs, as well as plan and manage other leadership development activities and events.

Each year, Ohio Farm Bureau releases its Water Quality Status Report. In 2024, the report showcases the impacts being made by Ohio farmers who are taking measures to ensure clean water through voluntary efforts that are being done on a large scale with measurable results.

Applications are now being accepted for 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals competitive events, including the Discussion Meet, Excellence in Agriculture and Outstanding Young Farmer contests.
