Wilmington College will confer degrees to 238 students at its 148th Commencement on Saturday (May 11) in Hermann Court. 

Wilmington College’s prominence among the Ohio FFA’s top leadership in recent years continues as Anna S. Moeller was elected president of the state organization Friday (April 3) at the 96th Ohio FFA State Convention. She continues the College’s major presence at the FFA’s state level, as WC senior Aubrey Schwartz served as state president in 2022-23.

Wilmington College students have increased academic offerings available with the emergence of several incubator programs starting this fall. One of those new major concentrations is sports nutrition. It — along with public health, cybersecurity management and logistics & supply chain management — will be taught in a hybrid modality by a combination of Wilmington College faculty and instructors nationwide.

Wilmington College’s WAVE project, in which science students are sampling and testing water quality in local streams while seeking pollution mitigation measures, garnered a triad of major awards at Thursday’s (May 2) 13th Annual Research Forum. Some 80 students showcased their research conducted as individuals, groups and with faculty members through poster presentations and other media.

For the second time during his outdoor track & field career and third time overall, Wilmington College’s Nathen Borgan is the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Field Athlete of the Week. He was named during the indoor season on Feb. 19 and earlier this month on April 1.

Wilmington College Theatre presents the alumnae-directed Spring One Act Plays on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (April 18-20), at 7:30 p.m., in Heiland Theatre. 

Wilmington College Quaker Thunder Pep band and Concert Band will present its Spring Concert Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre. The event is free of charge.

Hillsboro High School senior Halle Reveal recently signed her letter of intent to play softball at Wilmington College.
