Wildcats run-rule South Gallia at VA Memorial

CHILLICOTHE — The Whiteoak Wildcats put runs on the scoreboard at will Monday night at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe against South Gallia.
WHS not only scored 13 runs in the second through fourth innings combined but overcame a soggy day to defeat South Gallia 13-3 in five innings.
The Wildcats (4-2) were led at the plate by David Deer and Joe Michael, who each collected three RBIs. Deer was 1-for-2, including a double, with two runs and the aforementioned three RBIs.
Michael was 2-for-3, including a triple, with two runs along with the three RBIs.
Luke Taggert was 1-for-2 with a triple, along with one run and one RBI.
Gage Carraher finished 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Carraher hit a double.
"Joe Michael and David Deer had big nights at the plate," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "Gage Carraher and Luke Taggert also continue to be consistent at the plate for us."
Michael Carraher was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats. The senior pitched five innings, including three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks. Carraher (1-0) struck out three.
"Mike Carraher made his first varsity pitching start," Veidt said. "He improves every time he is on the mound."
WHS is scheduled to face the Fayetteville Rockets Tuesday in a game switched to WHS, at 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
