LCHS falls to first-place North Adams; wins against Paint Valley  

Tuesday saw the North Adams Lady Green Devils defeat the host Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs in three sets in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action.

LCHS lost by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-16.

For the Lady Mustangs, they totaled 18 kills, with Kylie O’Connor with eight, while Matalyn Magee totaled four kills. Also gaining kills were Halle Greene (two), Melany Stephenson (two), Avery Shope (one) and Addy Carraher with one.

The Lady Mustangs also had 16 team assists with nine by Carraher, six from Ava McLaughlin, and Joslyn Rockey had one.

Gaining aces for LCHS were McLaughlin, O’Connor, Rockey and Stephenson each had one. The digs leader was Rockey with 21, followed by Shope with 11, and Stephenson had nine. Also with digs were Carraher (seven), McLaughlin (seven), Greene (two), Ava Doughman (one) and Magee (one).

The Lady Mustangs also had six blocks with Magee and O’Connor each had two, Carraher (one) and Greene (one).

On Wednesday (Sept. 25), the LCHS Lady Mustangs defeated the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats in three sets during a non-conference match.

LCHS won by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18.

The win and loss moves the Lady Mustangs to 11-5 overall and 8-3 in the SHAC.

Whiteoak falls to Williamsburg

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a non-conference game on Wednesday to the visiting Williamsburg Lady Wildcats in five sets.

Williamsburg won set one at 25-7, but Whiteoak battled to win set two at 25-22.

In the third set, Williamsburg won by a 25-22 score, only to see Whiteoak win the fourth set with a 25-23 score.

The fifth and final set (first to 15), it was Williamsburg winning by a 15-4 score.

Whiteoak’s loss moves them to 1-14 overall this season.

Hillsboro defeats Jackson on the road

The Hillsboro Lady Indians earned a big Frontier Athletic Conference win on Thursday by defeating the Jackson Ironladies in five sets at JHS.

Hillsboro won set one at 25-13 and set two at 25-15. The third and fourth sets went to Jackson at 25-18 and 25-21. In the fifth set (first to 15), it was Hillsboro winning at 15-08.

Hillsboro improves to 6-2 in the FAC and 11-4 overall.

McClain drops FAC match to Miami Trace

The McClain Lady Tigers lost a FAC match to the host Miami Trace Lady Panthers in three sets on Thursday at MTHS.

MHS lost by scores of 25-11, 25-04 and 25-13.

The loss sends McClain to an overall record of 6-12, and in the FAC the Lady Tigers are 3-5.
