Tigers fall in SCOL play at Clinton-Massie

CLARKSVILLE — Trailing by 11 points after the first half didn't help matters for the McClain Tigers on Tuesday night. Unable to overcome their first half woes, the Tigers fell to the Clinton-Massie Falcons, 57-41 in South Central Ohio League play.

MHS (2-5, 5-9) was outscored 13-7 in the first quarter, and following a 16-10 second frame, trailed 29-17 at the half.

In the third, CM (4-3, 7-5) outscored the visiting Tigers 15-14, and in the final eight minutes the Falcons led 13-10 to lead every quarter.

Leading the Tigers was freshman Ryan Faulconer with 10 points, followed by Brent Shannon with eight.


[[In-content Ad]]Evan Mustard scored seven points in the Tigers' loss. Trey Lytle and Bryce Duff each added six points for MHS. Thomas Schrader scored four points.

The Falcons were led by Trent Smart with a game-high 16 points. Tyler Uetrecht followed with 11 points, and Kyle Clifton scored nine for CM.

From the free-throw line, CM was 15-of-22 for 68 percent, and MHS was 10-of-16 for 53 percent. MHS committed 12 turnovers and CM had 13.

MHS will play again on Tuesday, Jan. 31 when they host the London Red Raiders (2-6, 3-11). CM is scheduled to play again on Friday, Jan. 27 when they travel to face the Washington Blue Lions (4-3, 6-7).

The Hillsboro at McClain boys basketball game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4. It was postponed on Friday, Jan. 20.
