CLARKSVILLE — On Friday night the McClain Tigers dropped their fifth consecutive game and sixth of the season in a 70-14 loss to the Clinton-Massie Falcons at CMHS.
The Falcons had scoring quarters of 21, 28, 14 and 7 for their 70 total points. CM (4-0, 5-2) led 49-0 at halftime. MHS scored all 14 points in the third quarter.
Not much went in the favor of the Tigers on either side of the ball with three MHS quarterbacks combining for five interceptions. All MHS quarterbacks (five total) went 7-of-25 for 82 yards passing.
On the ground MHS had a total of four yards rushing. They had 62 positive, but also had negative 58 yards on the ground for the net total of four yards. The Tigers totaled 86 offensive yards.
Senior Gary Ryan led the Tigers with 10 yards rushing.
Receiving for the Tigers, Coleston Walters had one catch for 54 yards, followed with Isaac Savage with one catch for 11 yards. Adam Beatty had three receptions for 36 yards and Jordan Goble finished with three catches for 23 yards and one touchdown.
McClain's other touchdown was a fumble recovery and run of 20 yards by Dillon East.
As for the Falcons they finished with 473 yards of offense, including 413 yards of rushing.
Leading the Falcons was Wyatt Running with eight carries for 126 yards and one touchdown. Zack Zurface had 108 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns. J.D. Curtsinger finished with 45 yards on three carries.
The stat of the game belonged to Wes Clutter with two carries for three yards and two touchdowns. Dustin Seitz had 66 yards on seven carries for CM.
At quarterback for CM Tyler Uetrecht was 3-of-5 for 60 yards with no interceptions.
The loss drops MHS to 1-6 overall, 0-4 in the SCOL. CM improves to 5-2 overall, 4-0 in the SCOL.
Next week the Tigers will host the Miami Trace Panthers for their homecoming game at MHS. CM will travel to take on the Washington Blue Lions at Gardner Park.
