Local angler Charles "Chuck" Sykora his son, Chuck Sykora Jr., this week caught a 10-pound, two-ounce largemouth bass at Rocky Fork Lake.

They fish at all Bayview Campground and Cottages and Bait and Tackle sponsored tournaments.

Charles and his son have been using the warrior baits and have been catching some amazing fish. They have placed in the top five of every tournament entered, and the startling fact is they have been catching some of the biggest bass ever seen at Rocky Fork Lake.

According to Chuck, they are not fishing pros and they don’t even have a fishing boat. They use a patio boat which is similar to a pontoon boat with no trolling capabilities. They cruise to several spots on the lake, then drop anchor and fish.

They always practice catch and release so when they would tell people about the fish caught it wasn’t too believable. The bait shop staff knew along "about the two guys on the family boat outfishing everyone." So they started taking pictures to show the community what amazing fish are in Rocky Fork Lake.

"We just want to help bring attention to the lake and the community in hopes of bringing awareness to local businesses," Chuck said.

For perspective on their 10-pound, two-ounce largemouth bass, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources says the state record is just over 13 pounds.
