Lady Tiger volleyball wraps up season

LANCASTER — The McClain Lady Tigers had their volleyball season ended on Wednesday evening during a Division II SE District sectional final match against at Fairfield-Union.
 
The Lady Tigers lost in three games by scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-23.

McClain finished the season with eight wins, as they entered the postseason with a No. 5 seed. Fairfield-Union is a No. 4 seed.

In the North bracket, No. 1 Warren defeated Vinton County (No. 8) in four games, No. 2 Sheridan defeated No. 7 Miami Trace in three games and No. 3 Unioto defeated No. 6 Jackson in three games.

In the south bracket, No. 1 Westfall defeated New Lexington (No. 8) in four games, No. 4 Athens topped No. 5 Gallia Academy in three games, No. 2 Waverly defeated No. 7 Marietta in three games and No. 3 Washington defeated No. 6 Logan Elm in four games.

Those results set up the following district final matches:

North Bracket
Tuesday, Oct, 25 at Southeastern H.S.
• Warren vs. Fairfield-Union (6 p.m.)
• Sheridan vs. Unioto (following first match)

South Bracket
Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Southeastern H.S.
• Westfall at Athens (6 p.m.)
• Waverly vs. Washington (following first match)

The winners of the four district semifinal matches will play for district championships on Saturday, Oct. 29 at SEHS.[[In-content Ad]]
