The Highland County Thunder traveled to Fairfield on Wednesday to take on the Fairfield Sluggers for league play and to Blue Ash to take on the Sycamore Aviators at Crosley Field for a non-league contest Saturday.
The Thunder defeated the Cincinnati Bulldogs, 8-6.
Leading hitters were Chaz Lanier, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Wyatt Crothers went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Alexander and Puckett each were 2-for-3 with one RBI. Scott Cawood was the winning pitcher.
On Sunday, the Thunder team was at home to take on the Mason Renegades in a doubleheader, splitting the wins and taking the league game 6-3 behind a one-hitter game thrown by Taylor Cox. Gage Waits took over in the sixth inning to seal the win. Skinner was 1-for-2, Seth Meyer 1-for-3 and Ty Crum 1-for-1.
The second game was a wooden bat game, where the Thunder came up short with a final score of 5-1.

The Aviators scored two in the second, and the Thunder came back in the third with a run, making it 3-2. The Aviators added a run in the fourth and went ahead in the sixth to seal the six-run win over the Thunder.

Leading hitters for the day were Crum at 5-for-8, including a double, two RBIs and scoring five runs. Isaiah Liggins was 3-for-5 with a triple, an inside the park home run, two RBIs and scoring five runs.
Cox went 2-for-4 with five walks and multiple runs.
Lanier was 3-for-9 with two RBIs, a triple, a double and two runs. Jamie Skinner was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.
Seth Meyer was 2-for-4, with one RBI and three runs. Josh Bauer was 2-for-6 with three runs. Cawood was the winning pitcher in the first game, giving up only two hits in the 13-5 win. Crothers was the winning pitcher in the second game, allowing only two hits.
