The winning ways for the Whiteoak Wildcats continued on Monday as they shut out the Manchester Greyhounds, 12-0 at Whiteoak High School, improving their overall record to 9-0 on the season.

Whiteoak in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference game scored five runs in the first two innings with a four-run first, and they added another run in the bottom of the second. WHS took complete control of the game with seven runs crossing the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In all, the Wildcats totaled six hits and forced 10 walks, as all nine batters in the order for WHS forced no less than one walk in the win.

“The key to today was getting their pitcher to 89 pitches by the third after a 39-pitch first, with a fast start (four-run first), and our ability to stay present in the top of the fourth inning during some adversity,” WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. “We then responded by offensively plating seven runs in the bottom of that inning.

“We were led offensively by Landon Barnett with two hits and an RBI, including a triple. Eli Roberts was 1-for-2 with two RBI, as well as David Donohoo and Kaden Moon-Stone (1-for-2) with two RBI.”

Luken Roades finished the day 1-for-3 with the lead-off batter, scoring a run, stealing two bases and he walked once. Landon Barnett finished 2-for-4 with two runs, one RBI, a walk and a steal.

Carson Emery scored two runs, collected an RBI and walked once in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference win. Nate Price ended his day with a run and a walk.

Ian Griffith for the Wildcats was 1-for-2 with two runs and one walk, while Eli Roberts collected a 1-for-2 day at the plate with two runs, two RBI and a walk.

Zander Roades finished the SHAC game with a run, two RBI and two walks. Teammate David Donohoo was 1-for-2 with two RBI, one walk and one steal. Kaden Moon-Stone finished 1-for-2 with a run, two RBI, two steals and a walk.

On the mound, Luken Roades pitched five innings, where he allowed no runs on two hits and one walk. Roades struck out 11 batters in the win, as he faced a total of 18 batters from Manchester.

“Luken Roades was the difference maker today,” Veidt said. “He had outstanding stuff and looked unhittable the first three innings.”
