Whiteoak softball drops 2 games to Georgetown

Two non-conference games on Saturday saw the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats fall to the Georgetown Lady G-Men by scores of 16-6 and 9-7 at Georgetown High School.
The first game of the doubleheader saw Whiteoak trailed 2-0 after the first inning, and following a four-run second inning by the Lady G-Men, Whiteoak had a deficit of 6-0.
WHS scored their first run in the top of the third, only to see Georgetown score nine runs in the bottom of the inning for a 15-1 score. WHS scored two runs in the top of the fourth, then three runs in the top of the fifth for a 15-6 score. In the bottom of the sixth, Georgetown ended the game with a run for the run-rule win over WHS.
Whiteoak finished with nine hits and committed five errors, while the Lady G-Men finished with 12 hits and one error.
Molly McMullen finished 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, one run and a steal.
Addie Roberts was 1-for-3 with a walk and a steal, and teammate Jaylie Parr was 1-for-4 with a run and three steals. Bri Hill finished with a run, one walk and two steals.
Elena Limon was 1-for-3 with a run and a steal, and Elly McMullen for WHS finished 1-for-3 with a run and a double. Lilly Leston drew a walk.
Madison Davidson was 2-for-2 with a run, two RBI and a steal, and her two hits were doubles. Jay Clift had a walk, and Eve Lucas went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Leston threw two innings in the circle, allowing nine runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks, and collected a strikeout.
Hill was charged with the loss as she pitched 3.1 innings, walking five and striking out five batters.
In game two of the twin bill, the Lady ’Cats lost 9-7.
Georgetown scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second, and after WHS tied the score at 1-1, the Lady G-Men tacked on three runs in the bottom of the third for a 4-1 lead.
Whiteoak scored their second run of the game in the top of the fourth, but Georgetown scored two runs for a 6-2 score. In the sixth, WHS was outscored 3-1, and the WHS put the pressure on Georgetown with a four-run inning, but lost by two runs.
Hill was charged with the loss as she pitched 10 innings, walking six and allowing 10 hits, as she finished with seven strikeouts.
Whiteoak’s Elena Limon finished 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.
For WHS, Leston was 2-for-5 with a triple, a run and a steal. Addison Roberts finished 2-for-4 with a run and a steal. Elly McMullen finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Mattie Conrad had an RBI.
Whiteoak stands at 4-6 overall this season.
