Whiteoak Lady ‘Cats compete against Manchester, Peebles and Georgetown in recent games

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game against the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, 19-1 in five innings at MHS on Thursday, May 7. 

Whiteoak’s lone run was scored in the top of the fourth as Kylee Ruark scored a run with the RBI going to Ivy Garrison. 

WHS totaled seven hits in the loss with Garrison going 2-for-2 with the RBI. Kyra Boyd was 1-for-3 (a double), Ciaira Boggs was 1-for-2 with a HBP, and Ruark went 1-for-2 with a run. 

Mckinley Mootz was 1-for-2 (a double), and teammate Mareah Wyatt was 1-for-2. Jenna Canada forced a walk and had a steal. 

Boyd pitched four innings with four strikeouts. 

As for Manchester, they had a run in the bottom of the first, then a four-run inning in the second. They wrapped up their scoring with a 14-run third inning.

The next game for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats was Friday night (May 8) against the Peebles Lady Indians in SHAC play where PHS defeated the Lady ‘Cats, 11-2. 

Peebles took the lead in the top of the third for a 2-0 lead over WHS, and from there their lead went to 4-0 with another two-run inning on the top of the fifth. Whiteoak scored their first run in the bottom of the fifth. 

The top of the sixth saw the Lady Indians score four runs, followed with WHS — in the bottom of the inning — scoring one run. PHS added three runs in the top of the seventh for the final 11-2 score. 

Peebles finished the game with 14 hits and one error. Whiteoak totaled five hits and six errors. 

Jenna Canada ended the game at 1-for-3 with a run and a steal. Kyra Boyd was 1-for-3 with a run. Kylee Ruark ended the day at 1-for-2 with a steal. Mattie Conrad was 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI, and a steal. McKinley Mootz finished the day at 1-for-3. 

Boyd pitched seven innings where she allowed four earned runs with two strikeouts.

WHS was back on the softball diamond on Saturday afternoon (May 9) as they fell in non-conference action by a 10-0 score on the road against Georgetown. 

Georgetown scored six runs in the bottom of the third, followed with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Lady G-Men totaled 10 hits and no errors. Whiteoak finished with seven hits and no errors. 

Kyra Boyd finished 2-for-2 with a steal. Jenna Canada was 1-for-2 with a double, and teammate Chanel Captain went 1-for-2. Matti Conrad was 1-for-2, McKinley Mootz was 1-for-2, and Jada Combs was also 1-for-2. 

Boyd pitched four innings with one strikeout. 

WHS now stands at 2-15 overall this season.
