Lady ’Cats win 2 straight games in two-day span

Lady ’Cats earn six-point win over Huntington
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats earned a non-conference home win Wednesday evening by defeating the Huntington Lady Huntsmen, 54-48.
Whiteoak led 16-7 when the first quarter came to a close, and from there they outscored HHS, 13-12 in the second quarter for a halftime lead of 29-19.
Whiteoak added 13 points in the third quarter and 12 points in the fourth frame, while Huntington scored 13 points in the third and 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Jaylie Parr was Whiteoak’s leading scorer with 16 points, making two 3-pointers in the win. She also added six rebounds to her totals.
Molly McMullen totaled 11 points for WHS, plus she collected three rebounds.
Lydia Carr finished with 10 points for WHS, sinking two 3-pointers, grabbing nine rebounds and leading WHS with four assists.
Kylee Hamm totaled nine points and had a team-high 11 rebounds.
Also for WHS, Addy Hauke scored five points and Kelsey Monteith totaled three points.
The win improves WHS to 9-5 overall.

Whiteoak wins at home vs. West Union
For a second straight game on a second consecutive night, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats earned a win on the basketball court, this time winning in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action.
WHS earned the win by defeating the West Union Lady Dragons, 64-31 at WHS.
Whiteoak dominated the game with a 22-6 first frame, and in the second quarter they added 15 points to the scoreboard, while West Union scored 10 points, leading to a halftime score of 37-16.
Whiteoak continued to keep the lead in the third quarter, putting up 13 points in the frame, while WUHS added 11 points to their overall scoring totals.
The fourth quarter saw the Lady ’Cats outscore West Union, 14-4 to seal the 33-point win.
Whiteoak had three players score in double figures, with Jaylie Parr totaling 15 points with seven rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Molly McMullen totaled 11 points with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. She also had a block for WHS in the win.
Kylee Hamm finished with 10 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Also for WHS Lydia Carr totaled eight points, while the rest of the scoring was by Addison Roberts (7), Madison Thompson (7) and Kelsey Monteith (6).
As a team, WHS totaled nine 3-pointers and were 13-of-22 from the free-throw line.
Hamm, Carr and Monteith each made two 3-pointers, while making one 3-pointer each were Roberts, Parr and McMullen.
WHS also totaled 28 rebounds, 18 steals, 13 assists and three blocks.
WHS committed 17 turnovers.
WHS now stands at 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the SHAC Division II standings, as they are in first place.
