Lady ’Cats lose to North Adams
In a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game that came down to a one-run differential, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost to the host North Adams Lady Green Devils, 7-6 on Friday (March 29).
The SHAC loss saw Whiteoak score three runs in the top of the fifth and three runs in the top of the sixth inning. North Adams scored two runs in the bottom of the first, followed by a one-run second, two-run fourth and one run in both the sixth and seventh innings.
The Lady ’Cats totaled their six runs on seven hits and they also committed two errors. North Adams finished with their seven runs on nine hits, and they committed one error.
For Whiteoak, Jaylie Parr was 2-for-3 including a home run, along with two runs, a walk and a steal.
Lilly Leston was 1-for-3 with one run and one walk. Bri Hill went 1-for-2 with a run, two walks and a steal. Molly McMullen finished 1-for-4, as did teammate Madison Davidson.
Elly McMullen ended her day at 1-for-2 with one run and a walk. Charli Hauke scored a run and forced a walk. Kylee Hamm also forced a walk.
Hill was charged with the loss, as she allowed three earned run on three hits with one strikeout. Leston pitched 5.2 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits, and she collected three strikeouts in the no-decision.
WHS is now 2-1 overall this season.
