Mustangs lose to North Adams
The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference baseball game on Monday, as they were held to one hit in a road loss to the host North Adams Green Devils, 6-3.
Lynchburg-Clay’s lone hit was by Josiah Burns, as he finished 1-for-3 with a double, one run, one RBI and a walk.
Jacob Allen walked once in the loss; Braedon West collected a run, two walks and a steal for the Mustangs; and Luke Smith had a run, a walk and two steals.
LCHS also had walks from Austin Bell and Christian Flowers, while Isaac Eyre had an RBI.
Burns pitched 2.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks, with two strikeouts. West pitched 3.1 innings, allowing one run (earned) on four hits and no walks. West totaled five strikeouts.
LCHS scored two runs in the top of the first and one run in the fourth inning. North Adams scored four runs in the bottom of the first and one run in both the third and sixth innings.
North Adams had nine hits and committed two errors, and the Mustangs finished with one hit and had one error.
The loss drops LCHS to 4-10 overall this season.
