Lynchburg-Clay softball falls in sectional finals

In their Division III Southeast District Sectional Final game on Thursday (May 11), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost by a 2-1 score to the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers at ZTHS.

Noel Barnhill had two of the four hits by LCHS, finishing 2-for-3. Morgan Baker was 1-for-2, and Brya McClain went 1-for-3 with a run. Caitlyn Collins was hit by a pitch.

Barnhill pitched all seven innings, allowing two unearned runs off two hits and two walks. She totaled three strikeouts.

The loss sends LC to a 10-9 overall record, and they are 8-4 in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. LCHS has one SHAC game left on the schedule, as they are scheduled to play Friday, May 12 at West Union High School.

Lynchburg-Clay is 8-4 in Division I of the SHAC. A win will put them in a three-way tie for the Div. I title, as both Eastern and Fairfield are 9-4 in Div. I of the SHAC.
