Lady Mustangs gain home win over North Adams

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs added a Southern Hills Athletic Conference to their win total on Monday, defeating the North Adams Lady Green Devils, 6-2 at LCHS.

LCHS trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but following a two-run third, they took a 2-1 lead. Lynchburg-Clay outscored North Adams 3-1 in the fourth inning, then added a final run in the bottom of the sixth.

The Lady Mustangs totaled seven hits in the win, while NAHS collected nine hits and committed seven errors.

Morgan Baker went 2-for-3, including one double, with one run and one RBI. Sophia Michael was also 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Kami Collins was 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Madison Baker finished 1-for-3 with one RBI, one run and two walks. Autumn Griffith was 1-for-3 with one run.

Noel Barnhill and Caitlyn Collins both also went 1-for-3.

Sarah McKinney was 1-for-2, and Brya McClain had one RBI.

Freshman pitcher Barnhill earned the win, pitching seven innings while giving up four hits, six runs (two earned), three walks and nine strikeouts.
