Lady Mustangs add 13-point win to season total; defeat Clinton-Massie

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs went on the road for a non-conference game Saturday evening and returned home with a 13-point win over the host Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons, winning by a 49-36 score.
The two teams were tied after the first quarter at 12-12, and it was the Lady Mustangs leading 24-18 at halftime as they outscored CMHS 12-6 in the second quarter.
LCHS (5-7) won the third frame at 10-8 and in the fourth quarter Lynchburg-Clay won the final frame at 15-10.
Lynchburg-Clay had three players in double-figure scoring, starting with Joslyn Rockey with 11 points. She finished with two two-point buckets, two 3-pointers and she was 1-of-3 from the free-throw line. Rockey also had four rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block.
Ava McLaughlin totaled 10 points with four two-point baskets, and she went 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. McLaughlin also had five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Adilyn Carraher finished with 10 points as well, totaling two 3-pointers and two two-point baskets. Carraher also added three rebounds and two steals.
Madison McMullen ended the game with five points, one rebound and three steals. Allie Waits finished the game with four points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Savannah Bell totaled three points, two assists and two steals. Teammate Lily Ferguson ended the game with six points and three steals.
As a team the Lady Mustangs totaled 14 two-point baskets, four 3-pointers and they were 9-of-14 from the free-throw line. They also collected as a team: 18 rebounds (five offensive), 13 assists, 17 steals and one block.
Team totals for Clinton-Massie (3-9) included 12 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and they were 3-of-8 from the free-throw line. They also had 64 rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
Rylee Long led the Lady Falcons with 14 points, totaling five two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and she was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.
The win lifts LCHS to an overall record of 5-7 this season. CMHS moves to 3-9 overall this season.
