North Adams too much for Lions

The Fairfield Lions were shut out on Friday evening, falling to Southern Hills Athletic Conference counterpart North Adams by a 3-0 score.

For the Lions at goal, Zane Matthews totaled 19 saves in the match.

The loss sends the Lions to a regular-season record of 3-5-0 in the SHAC standings and an overall record of 4-13-0, as next up is the postseason tournament.

North Adams improves to 6-2-0 in the SHAC and 12-3-2 overall.

Lady Lions, Lady Green Devils tie in SHAC finale

Friday night saw the Fairfield Lady Lions and North Adams Lady Green Devils finish in a scoreless tie to finish the regular season and SHAC schedule.

At goal for the Lady Lions in the shutout was Claire Newkirk with seven saves.

Fairfield finished tied for second place in the SHAC standings for the ’24 season with a conference record of 4-1-1. Overall, the Lady Lions are currently 12-4-1 as next for them is the district tournament.

North Adams finishes the SHAC schedule at 1-3-2, and overall they are 3-10-3.

Lynchburg-Clay loses regular-season finale to Grandview Heights

The ’24 regular season has wrapped up for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, as they lost a road non-conference match to host Grandview Heights by a 3-1 score.

LCHS with the loss now stands at 9-6-2 overall entering the district tournament.

This season through 17 games, leading LCHS in goals scored is Miranda Smith with 13, and Aubrey Slack is second with 12.

The win for Grandview Heights moves them to an overall record of 10-3-3 this season.
