4 Highland County players selected OSSCA All-Ohio; Landon West named Assistant Coach of the Year

Four Highland County soccer players and one assistant coach received the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association’s highest honors for the 2024 fall season, as they were selected to the OSSCA All-Ohio teams.
Highland County had three boys All-Ohio honors in Division V, all from Lynchburg-Clay, in players Isaac Eyre and Braedon West, as well as assistant coach Landon West. On the girls side, Fairfield’s Vivian Henninger and Lynchburg-Clay’s Olivia Van Fleet both earned All-Ohio honors in Division V.
Landon West was named the state’s Division V Assistant Coach of the Year. The Mustangs finished their season with an overall record of 14-4-2, as they were Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions and Div. V Southeast District runners-up.
Eyre, a senior, played goalkeeper for the Mustangs, finishing with 76 saves. The Mustangs entered their district final match with five consecutive shutouts, and overall they held opponents scoreless 12 times in their 20 games.
Senior midfielder Braedon West scored a team-high 15 goals for LCHS this fall. He also added five assists.
Henninger, a Fairfield sophomore, was the leading goal scorer on the Lady Lions’ team in their district runner-up season, as they finished 13-5-1. Henninger scored 27 goals and had 12 assists for Fairfield.
Van Fleet, a senior for LCHS, was honored for her defensive play this season. The Lady Mustangs finished 11-7-2 with a SHAC title and district championship, allowing just 24 goals on the season. Van Fleet also scored two goals and had two assists for the Lady Mustangs.
The only other SHAC honoree was Eastern Brown’s Makena Corbin (Div. V girls). From the Frontier Athletic Conference, All-Ohio selections include Chillicothe’s Carter Dunfee and Isaac Herlihy (Div. III boys) and Kiera Archer (Div. III girls), as well as Jackson’s Sydney Carpenter (Div. III girls).
