22 Highland County athletes, 3 coaches earn All-SHAC honors for winter season
The Southern Hills Athletic Conference this week announced the 2023-24 All-SHAC winter teams, with 22 Highland County basketball and bowling athletes, plus three coaches, honored.
Highland County accounted for six of the eight All-SHAC boys bowling team members, with SHAC Boys Bowler of the Year Ethan Fetters of Fairfield leading the way.
In order of finish at the SHAC tournament, other All-SHAC boys bowlers include Isaiah Rowe and Jake Ward, both of Whiteoak; Noah Bitzer of Lynchburg-Clay; and Jordan Bennington and Isaac Burns, both of Fairfield.
The All-SHAC boys bowling team also includes Jack Hoskins and Dillon Wagner, both of Fayetteville.
Also recognized from Highland County was SHAC Boys Bowling Coach of the Year Jarred Combs of Fairfield, as the Fairfield Lions won the 2023-24 SHAC tournament.

Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield and Whiteoak combined for six All-SHAC girls basketball selections, with Lynchburg-Clay accounting for three of those honors with the senior trio of Macy Etienne, Jade Massey and Addison West. Fairfield had two All-SHAC girls team members in Kelsey Clark and Faith Donley, while Whiteoak had one in Jaylie Parr.
Also named to the All-SHAC girls basketball team were: Katelynn Boerger, North Adams; Harlee Brand, North Adams; Lilly Carlier, Fayetteville; Ryley Kleemeyer, Fayetteville; Payton Johnson, Peebles; Kenlie Jones, North Adams; Brooklyn Manning, Ripley; Tabby Schumacher, Eastern; and Abigail Smalley, Peebles.
The co-Coaches of the Year are Sidney Pell of Peebles and Tory Rummel of Fayetteville.

There were five All-SHAC athlete honorees from Highland County, as well as two coaches, for girls bowling.
Lynchburg-Clay’s Kylee Chaney led the way by being named SHAC Girls Bowler of the Year.
In order of finish, other Highland County bowlers named to the All-SHAC team are Maddie Brault of Lynchburg-Clay; Hannah Ferguson of Fairfield; Sarah McKinney of Lynchburg-Clay; and Matti Conrad of Whiteoak.
The All-SHAC girls bowling team also includes: Alli Bell, Eastern; Kaydence Cramton, Fayetteville; and Anna Castle, Ripley.
Also earning All-SHAC recognition were SHAC Girls Bowling Coaches of the Year Shawn McLaughlin and Sean Ison, both of Lynchburg-Clay, as the Lady Mustangs won the 2023-24 SHAC Bowling Tournament.

Five Highland County athletes were named to the All-SHAC boys basketball team, with Fairfield boasting three selections in Larkin Friend, Trey House and Logan McIntosh. Lynchburg-Clay had one All-SHAC player, Denver Clinton, and Whiteoak also had one honoree, Weston Blair.
Other All-SHAC boys basketball team members are: Grady Barber, Eastern; Alex Bradshaw, Fayetteville; Bransyn Copas, North Adams; Connor Darnell, Manchester; Luke Haney, Eastern; Drew Kennedy, Manchester; Carson Reed, Peebles; Jayce Rothwell, North Adams; Breestin Schweickart, North Adams; and Caleb Tipis, Fayetteville.
