Hillsboro wins 2 non-conference games over East Clinton, Paint Valley

The past two games for the Hillsboro Lady Indians have seen them leave the court with victories, by defeating East Clinton on Saturday and Paint Valley on Wednesday. 

On Saturday night (Dec. 16), the Lady Indians won handily by a 68-25 win in non-conference play at ECHS. 

In the win, the Lady Indians were led in scoring by four players who reached double figures, including the team leader against ECHS, Peighton Bledsoe with 15 points, followed by Kyra Boyd with 14 points, Kobie Miles with 12 points and Blake Herdman with 11 points. 

Bledsoe finished the game with six made two-point baskets, and she knocked down a 3-pointer.

Boyd followed with two two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and a made free throw. 

Miles totaled two two-point buckets, along with two 3-pointers and two free throws, as she was 2-of-2 in the game. 

Herdman ended the game with one two-point field goal, two 3-pointers and she was 3-of-6 from the free-throw line. 

Other leading scorers for the Lady Indians included six points each from Tylee Davis and Addyson Miles, and two points apiece by Kayla Seeling and Kiara Boris. 

Davis led HHS with 10 rebounds, and Herdman was next with five boards, as the Lady Indians totaled 32 rebounds as a team. 

HHS also collected 13 assists, with Kobie Miles totaling four and Herdman with three. 

The steals leader for HHS in the game was Kobie Miles with five, and next was Bledsoe with four. 

The Lady Indians totaled 10 turnovers in the win. 

On Wednesday (Dec. 20), the Lady Indians won 60-15 in non-conference action at HHS. 

Hillsboro was led in scoring by Bledsoe with 14 points, as she made six baskets, including two 3-pointers and four two-point field goals. 

Herdman finished with 10 points as she made two shots from beyond the arc, one two-point basket, and she was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line. 

Addyson Miles totaled eight points, and next in scoring were Davis and Boyd with seven points each. 

Also for HHS, Rylie Scott totaled six points, Boyd totaled four points, Kobie Miles collected three points, and with one point was Kallie Fraley. 

HHS made five 3-pointers as a team with two by Bledsoe, two from Herdman and one made by Boyd. 

As a team, HHS finished 7-of-12 from the free-throw line.

The team leader in rebounds for HHS was Herdman with 12, as she gained a double-double.

Hillsboro’s assists leader was Kobie Miles with four, and the steals leaders were Davis with seven and Scott with six. Bledsoe totaled five steals, and Herdman finished with four steals. 

As a team, HHS had 15 turnovers. 

HHS now stands at 4-6 overall, and they are 1-3 in the Frontier Athletic Conference.
