Hillsboro softball falls to Pickerington North and Wheelersburg in big-time matchups

The Hillsboro Lady Indians faced two of their strongest opponents on their 2025 schedule this past Saturday (April 19) as they took on Pickerington North and Wheelersburg at Symmes Valley in a weekend doubleheader.
Hillsboro made their schedule tough to prepare for the upcoming postseason in May, and on Saturday, they held strong with two top softball programs, falling in each game by a 3-2 score.
Against Pickerington North, Hillsboro scored first with a run in the top of the second inning, but that run was equaled with PNHS scoring a run in the bottom of the same inning. In the bottom of the third, Pickerington North scored their final two runs of the game.
Hillsboro scored their final run in the top of the sixth inning.
Each team had three hits, but HHS committed seven errors in the loss.
In the circle during the non-conference game, Camryn Spruell was charged with the unlucky loss as she held Pickerington North to three hits, allowing three runs (all unearned) with two walks and 13 strikeouts in seven innings. She threw 112 pitches, 76 for strikes.
At the plate, Myleah Fridle was 1-for-3 with a run. Addley Miller went 1-for-2 with a run, one RBI and a walk. Madison Dearmon also had a hit for HHS, finishing 1-for-3 with one RBI. The Lady Indians also had a walk by Spruell, while Reagan Clemons was hit by a pitch.

The following game for Hillsboro saw them fall by a 3-2 score, this time to the Wheelersburg Lady Pirates.
In the non-conference game, the Lady Indians led 2-1 after the top of the fourth as they scored both of their runs in that inning. Wheelersburg scored their runs with one in the bottom of the first, followed with a two-run sixth inning.
For the game, the Lady Indians collected four hits and no errors, while Wheelersburg had five hits and one error.
Hillsboro saw Spruell hit a home run, as she finished 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Chloe Roberts ended the game at 1-for-2 with a run, and she was hit by a pitch. The Lady Indians also had Addley Miller finish 1-for-2 with a walk, and Mylea Fridley was 1-for-3.
Spruell in the loss allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk in seven innings, while also collecting 11 strikeouts. She finished the game with 93 pitches, 62 for strikes.
The Lady Indians now stand at 11-3 overall this season.
