Hillsboro boys and girls bowling win district championships; advance to state

The Hillsboro Indians and Lady Indians bowling teams are both headed to the state tournament, as they each were Division I District champions on Wednesday at Shawnee Lanes. 

The Hillsboro boys — who were also the champions of the Frontier Athletic Conference  — won with a score of 4014 as their regulation game scores were 1025, 947 and 848. In the Baker games, scores for the Hillsboro boys were 205, 256, 202, 156, 144 and 231 for a Baker total of 1194. The regulation total was 2820.

The Indians were led on the lanes by senior Camden Lively with a regulation total of 719 as his scores were 279, 280 and 160. Lively was also the individual district champion.

Senior Steven Rodgers finished with a score of 555 in the regulation games with game scores of 200, 184 and 171. 

HHS sophomore Quentin Gall had a total of 515 with game scores of 199, 150 and 166. 

Junior Jay Reno finished with a score of 492 as his game scores were 193, 150 and 149. 

Hillsboro’s Talc Girard had a total of 337 in two games played with scores of 154 and 183. HHS also had a substitution score of 202 in game three. 

Also on the HHS boys roster at districts were freshman Austin Huff, senior Cylas Everetts and senior Jaxon Alexander. 

The Hillsboro Lady Indians bowlers won their district championship with a score of 3469 as they had a regulation game score of 2477 and a Baker total of 992. Earlier this season the Lady Indians were also champions of the Frontier Athletic Conference.

The Lady Indians’ regulation game totals were 833, 791 and 853. Their Baker scores were 151, 170, 148, 173, 169 and 181. 

The individual leader for Hillsboro was sophomore Rylie Ison at 584 with game totals of 198, 183 and 203. Ison was also the individual district champion.

HHS junior Camilyn Miller totaled a score of 500 with game scores of 204, 160 and 136. 

Hillsboro also had a score of 488 from junior Rylee Moyer as her scores consisted of 144, 171 and 173. 

The Lady Indians also had a score of 458 from senior Sidney Bayless as she gained scores of 137, 139 and 182. 

Hillsboro junior Madison Nichols had a one-game score of 150 in game one. HHS also had substitution scores of 138 and 159. 

Also on the roster at districts for the Lady Indians were sophomore Riley Clemons, junior Jayah Chaney and junior Carey Skeens. 

The Division I boys and girls state tournament will be on March 6-7 at HP Lanes in Columbus.
