Hillsboro bowling teams punch ticket to state tournament

The Hillsboro Indians and Lady Indians bowling teams are headed back to state, after both teams won a Southeast/East District championship Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Legacy Lanes in Coshocton.
The Hillsboro boys bowling team advanced to state with a team total and district championship score of 4,293. In the regulation games (three total), the Indians had a game one score of 1,041, followed with a game two score of 1,020 and a game three score of 1,049 for a regulation total of 3,110.
The Indians in their six Baker games had scores of 235, 161, 245, 183, 174 and 185 for a Baker total of 1,183.
As for the Hillsboro individual scores, senior Andrew Tomko, the district runner-up, had a score of 682, with game scores of 239, 216 and 227.
Hillsboro junior Camden Lively finished with a score of 634, as his game scores were 204, 232 and 198.
HHS also had senior Zach Burwinkel finish with a score of 624, having game scores of 203, 188 and 233.
Also for Hillsboro, they had senior Aidan Lemaster finish with a total score of 598 (198, 180, 220), and senior Austin Bledsoe totaled a 572 score (197, 204, 171).
The Lady Indians of Hillsboro won their district championship and stamped their ticket to state with a score of 3,173. In regulation games (three total), the Lady Indians had scores of 795, 767 and 785.
Hillsboro’s girls team in the Baker games finished with a score of 826 with Baker game scores of 137, 152, 134, 126, 153 and 124.
Freshman Rylie Ison won the individual district championship with a score of 580. Her game scores were 166, 178 and 236.
The Lady Indians saw sophomore Madison Nichols score a 502 in three games with game scores of 179, 197 and 126.
Hillsboro also had sophomore Camilyn Miller finish with a score of 470 with game score of 156, 149 and 165.
The Lady Indians also had a 430 score from sophomore Rylee Moyer as she collected game scores of 175, 133, and 122. Junior Sidney Bayless in two games scored a 255 from game score of 119 and 255. HHS also had a 110 individual score from a substitution.
The McClain girls teams also bowled in the event with a sixth-place team finish out of 13 teams. MHS had a team total of 2,793, with a regulation score of 2,030 (662, 671, 697) and a Baker score of 763 (145, 124, 129, 106, 118 and 141).
McClain was led by sophomore Miya Cook at 462 (159, 159, 144), and next was senior Sarah Easter at 433 (123, 159, 151). Senior Bailey Mitchell finished with a 392 score (128, 124, 140).
The Lady Tigers also had a 372 score from sophomore Natalie Stroud (136, 97, 139), and senior Ashley Mitchell had a 371 score (116, 132, 123).
