Lady Mustangs sweep G-Town

Playing on their home court Monday night, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs earned a solid non-conference win by defeating Georgetown in three straight sets.

LCHS won by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-16.

Addy Carraher finished the match with 19 assists,  five kills, four aces, one dig and one block.

Halle Greene had six kills and three digs. Also for Lynchburg-Clay, Matalyn Magee ended with five kills, one ace, two digs and six blocks.

Ava McLaughlin collected 10 assists, two digs and  one kill.

Kylie O’Connor earned nine kills, two blocks and one ace. The Lady Mustangs also had Joslyn Rockey finish with 14 digs, four kills and two aces.

Avery Shope of LCHS had 11 aces, seven digs and one kill.

Ava Doughman totaled three digs and one kill. Morgan Baker had one dig for LCHS in the win. Melany Stephenson totaled five digs, one kill and one ace.

LCHS improves to 12-5 overall, and currently they are 8-3 in the FAC.

Fairfield wins 5-set match over host Williamsburg

Playing a complete match consisting of five tough sets, the Fairfield Lady Lions were the last team standing as they won the non-conference contest over Williamsburg by a 3-2 match score.

Fairfield won sets one, four and five by scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 15-06, respectively. Williamsburg won sets two and three at 25-23 and 26-24.

FHS totaled 61 kills, with Jobey Hattan having 24, followed with Remi Moon with 13 and McKinley Cox totaling 10. Also with kills were Mackenzie Anderson with six, Kelsey Clark with six, Jaeden Drury with one and Paisley Stahlhut with one.

Fairfield also totaled 11 aces, with five from Clark, two from Alyssa Bales and one each by Moon, Hattan, Anderson and Cox.

The Lady Lions also had seven blocks as a team, as Moon led with three, and with two each were Drury and Cox.

There were 93 digs for Fairfield, with the tri-leaders being Hattan, Anderson and Bales with 23 digs apiece. Moon totaled 11 digs, while Clark totaled eight, Cox had three and Stahlhut totaled two.

FHS also had 59 assists, with 47 from Clark for the team lead, while Moon had three, Anderson finished with three, Hattan totaled two and with one assist each were Stahlhut, Drury, Cox and Bales.

The win moved Fairfield to 10-4 overall, and they are 8-1 in the SHAC.

Lady ’Cats lose in 3 sets to CNE

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats dropped a non-conference volleyball match on Monday evening, falling in three sets to the host Clermont Northeastern Lady Rockets at CNE High School.

WHS lost by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-18.

Lady Indians swept by Miami Trace

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers continued to showcase their dominance in the Frontier Athletic Conference this season, as they defeated the Hillsboro Lady Indians at HHS in three straight sets Tuesday.

HHS lost their FAC match by scores of 25-12, 25-05 and 25-22.

For the Lady Indians, they had 20 kills with Camryn Spruell with five, Samantha Tipton totaling five, Tylee Davis having four and with three was Ryan Wagoner. Having two kills was Kayla Seeling, and having one kill was Addison Huff.

HHS also had six aces in the loss with two each from Seeling and Davis, while Tipton and Allie Roush each collected one.

The lone block for Hillsboro was by Spruell. Leading Hillsboro in digs was Kayla Seeling with 15, followed by Wagoner with one, Roush with one and Huff with one.

The loss moves Hillsboro to 6-3 in the FAC and 11-5 overall.

Lynchburg-Clay has 3-set win over West Union

Traveling to West Union High School on Tuesday, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won against the host Lady Dragons in three consecutive sets for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win.

Lynchburg-Clay defeated WUHS with scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-23.

LCHS collected 35 kills as a team, plus added 85 digs, 32 assists, 14 aces and one block for their final team totals.

Leading the team in kills was Kylie O’ Connor with 12, followed by Halle Greene with 11. In aces, the team was led by Avery Shope with six and Ava McLaughlin with four.

LC’s lone block was from Mattie Magee, and the digs leader was Joslyn Rockey with 34. Leading the Lady Mustangs in assists was Addy Carraher with 20.

Also collecting kills for LCHS were Magee (six), Carraher (four), Rockey (one) and Shope (one).

More ace totals included O’Connor (two), Carraher (one) and Rockey (one).  

The rest of the digs for LCHS included Ava Doughman (nine), McLaughlin (six), Melany Stephenson (six), Carraher (six), Halle Greene (six),  Magee (two), Jules Vesey (two) and O’Connor (one).

Assists for LCHS went to Doughman (one) and Rockey (one).

The Lady Mustangs are now 13-5 overall and 9-3 in the SHAC.

Whiteoak drops SHAC match to Peebles

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference match on Tuesday on the road to the Peebles Lady Indians in four sets.

WHS won set three with a score of 25-22, but lost set one (25-20), set two (25-12) and set four (25-22).

Whiteoak is now 1-9 in the SHAC and 1-17 overall.
