Wildcat soccer earns 1st SHAC win of season
The Whiteoak Wildcats added another checkmark to their list of achievements for the 2024 season on Monday (Sept. 23) by defeating the West Union Dragons, 2-1 to earn their first Southern Hills Athletic Conference win of the 2024 season.
The Wildcats had a goal scored by Abe Flader with the assist from Kenyon Hughes. The other WHS goal was an own goal scored by the Dragons.
At goal for the Wildcats was Jackson Tedford with nine saves.
Whiteoak’s victory improves their overall record to 5-3-0 overall, and they are now 1-3-0 in the SHAC. West Union falls to 0-6-1 in the SHAC and 2-7-1 overall.

Lady Mustangs lose non-conference game
On Monday, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs traveled to take on Legacy Christian Academy, where they lost by a 3-1 score.
In the two-goal loss, LCHS had their lone unassisted goal scored by Olivia Van Fleet.
At goal for LCHS were Caitlyn Collins and Allie Waits, as Waits finished with two saves.
The Lady Mustangs currently have an overall record of 6-3-1 with a SHAC record of 4-0-1, as they are in second place.
Next for Lynchburg-Clay is a non-conference game Thursday, Sept. 26 at home against Williamsburg with a 6:30 p.m. scheduled start. From there, on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Lady Mustangs are scheduled to host the Unioto Lady Shermans at 2 p.m.

Fairfield shuts out Westfall
The Fairfield Lady Lions went on the road and returned to Highland County with a shutout win by defeating the Westfall Lady Mustangs, 6-0 at WHS.
Vivian Henninger and Meri Jackson each scored two goals for Fairfield. Ava Hooper and Rilee Quickle each had one goal in the win. Henninger also had two assists for FHS, while Isabelle Hale and Hooper each had one assist.
At keeper for Fairfield were Meri Jackson and Claire Newkirk, as Newkirk had one save.
Fairfield with the win improves to 8-2-0 overall, and they currently sit in first place at 3-0-0 in the SHAC standings.
Next for the Lady Lions is an away game on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Southeastern in a non-conference contest at 5:30 p.m.

Lions lose by one goal at Westfall
Traveling to Ross County Monday evening, the Fairfield Lions soccer team lost a close non-conference battle against the Westfall Mustangs, falling by one goal at 3-2 at WHS.
Zane Matthews and Logan McIntosh each scored a goal for the Lions. At keeper for the Lions was Anderson Humphreys, who totaled 11 saves.
The loss moves the Lions to 2-9-0 overall, and they are currently 2-2-0 in the SHAC standings.
Fairfield is scheduled to play again Monday, Sept. 30 at home against the North Adams Green Devils at 4:30 p.m.

Wildcats fall to Williamsburg
Tuesday in a road game at Williamsburg High School, the Whiteoak Wildcats lost to their non-conference host by a 2-1 score.
The lone Whiteoak goal was scored by Tyler Wessner, an unassisted goal.
Jackson Tedford at keeper for WHS had eight saves.
Whiteoak now stands at 5-4-0 overall.
The Wildcats are scheduled to face the Piketon Redstreaks Thursday, Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at PHS.

Lady Indians take down Washington
In a home Frontier Athletic Conference game at Hillsboro High School on Tuesday, the Lady Indians defended their home field by defeating the Washington Lady Blue Lions 2-0.
For HHS, goals were scored by Taylor Thoroman with the assist by Ella Jordan, while Kobie Miles had an unassisted goal.
HHS improves to 3-4-0 in the FAC and 6-6-0 overall.
Next for the Lady Indians is an away FAC match at Jackson on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m.
