Using two second-half goals scored by Paisley Pryor, the McClain Lady Tigers defeated the Hillsboro Lady Indians for a second straight year and third consecutive meeting, by a 2-1 score Tuesday at Hillsboro High School.

McClain and Hillsboro played to a scoreless tie when halftime arrived, and Hillsboro struck first with a goal from Peighton Bledsoe for the 1-0 lead.

The Lady Tigers quickly responded with the first goal of the Frontier Athletic Conference match by Pryor, tying the score at 1-1 with the assist from Lindsey Hutchinson.

Later in the second half, McClain took the lead for good with a second goal scored by Pryor for the final one-goal lead at 2-1, as she was assisted by Mylie Lovett.

“Our defense has been playing fierce, intense soccer, and our keeper, Kenzie Wise, has been solid in the net,” MHS head coach Blain Bergstrom said.

The victory improves the Lady Tigers to 8-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the FAC, third place in the conference. Hillsboro is now 4-5-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the conference, as they are now fifth place in the FAC.
