McClain, Hillsboro girls golf plays in FAC No. 6 match; Lady Tigers play tri-match this week

Wednesday, Aug. 21 saw the McClain Lady Tigers play in a tri-match, where they took on West Union and Piketon in non-conference play.
Piketon won the event with a score of 179, followed by West Union at 183, and McClain carded a 226.
The match medalist was Piketon’s Laila Kelley with a score of 38.
McClain scores included Kaylin Sterling in third place overall with a score of 43.
MHS also had a a 57 score from Sarah Kegley, followed by Avery Murphy (59), Kate Barrett (67), Audrey Chamblin (77) and Laycee Watson (78).
Thursday, Aug. 22 was the No. 6 match for the Frontier Athletic Conference (nine-hole events), where Jackson won with a score of 199.
Next was Miami Trace (206), and in third place was McClain scoring a 209. Chillicothe was fourth place (215), and the rest of the scores included Hillsboro (216) and Washington (232).
Aubrey Arnold (Jackson) was the match medalist with a score of 35.
McClain was led by Kaylin Sterling with a score of 43. The remaining MHS scores were: Hailey Cornett (52), Abbie Lovett (55), Emma Marsh (59), Kallie Posey (61) and Reese Roble (64).
Hillsboro was led by Emma Yochum with a score of 50 for eighth place.
HHS also had the following individual scores: Reagan Leeth (53), Amani Cumberland (56), Rylea Scarberry (57), Blake Herdman (57) and Halle Jones (60).
