Hillsboro, McClain girls soccer seasons end at district semifinals

Hillsboro falls to No. 1 seeded Wheelersburg

The No. 4 seeded Hillsboro Lady Indians lost their Division IV SE District Semifinal game on Tuesday (Oct. 22) to the No. 1 seeded Wheelersburg Lady Pirates by a 6-1 score at Valley High School.

The Lady Indians’ lone goal was scored by Arianna Evans.

Hillsboro finishes with an overall record of 11-8-1, and in the Frontier Athletic Conference this season the Lady Indians finished with a 4-5-1 mark.

This season, HHS totaled 75 goals, and they allowed 52.

Seniors for Hillsboro are Peighton Bledsoe and Miranda Butler.

Lady Tigers see record season close at district semifinals

The McClain Lady Tigers had their record-breaking 2024 season come to an end at the Division IV SE District Semifinals played at Valley High School in a 2-1 loss to Albany Alexander.

No. 3 seeded McClain and No. 2 Alexander battled to a 1-0 score at halftime with Alexander in the lead. In the second half, MHS tied the score at 1-1 with a goal from Addison Olaker, tying the score with just over 22 minutes left in regulation.

The score stayed tied at 1-1, but with just under 6:00 left in the match Alexander took the lead for good for the 2-1 win.

Goals for Alexander were scored by Arbor Albano and Karah Allison.

The loss ends McClain’s final record at 12-5-2, setting a new record for wins in the program’s history. In FAC games this season, MHS finished with a record of 4-4-2.

Alexander moves to 10-8 overall.

Seniors for the Lady Tigers are Kenzie Wise, Lindsey Hutchinson, Piper Davis and Isabelle Smith.
