Fairfield Lions lose SHAC game to North Adams
The Fairfield Lions on Friday night lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game to the host North Adams Green Devils by a 51-48 score.
The Green Devils led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter, but the second quarter was closer as NAHS outscored the Lions by one point at 10-9, leaving the score at 26-20 at halftime.
In the third frame, the Green Devils scored 16 points and the Lions added 12 points to their side of their scoreboard for a 42-32 North Adams lead after three frames.
In the fourth quarter, the Lions scored 16 points and North Adams scored nine points.
Fairfield was led in scoring by Brody Smith with 15 points as the sophomore made three 3-pointers and three two-point baskets, as all three of his aforementioned threes came in the fourth quarter.
Logan McIntosh finished with 11 points, with McIntosh making four two pointers and one 3-pointer.
Griffin Friend and Quentin McIntosh each scored seven points, with Friend making two two-point field goals and a 3-pointer, while McIntosh had three two pointers and he was 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.
Caleb Barrera totaled five points with a two-point and three-point basket. Chase Newman rounded out the scoring with three points, making a 3-pointer in the second quarter.
The Lions totaled 13 two-point baskets, seven 3-pointers and they were 1-of-3 from the free-throw line.
North Adams was led in scoring by Breestin Schweickart with 19 points, making five two pointers, two 3-pointers, and he was also 3-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Lady Lions take down Peebles for SHAC win
Hosting the Peebles Lady Indians at Grandle Gymnasium on Monday night, the Fairfield Lady Lions earned a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory over PHS, 51-35.
Fairfield held an 11-9 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter as Kassi Miller scored five points in the opening frame of a 3-pointer and two-point shot. Also scoring two points in the first for Fairfield were Vivian Henninger and Addison Cannon.
Also scoring a two-point basket as she recovers from injury — in her first time on the court this season — was senior Kelsey Clark, who made a basket for their Lady Lions in the first quarter.
FHS won the second frame at 19-11 with the Lady Lions having seven points in the frame by Isabelle Hale, with her making a 3-pointer, a two-point basket and two made free throws.
The second frame for Fairfield also included a 3-pointer from Paisley Stahlhut, four points by Rilee Quickle off two baskets, and Miller made a 3-pointer and two free throws for five points.
At halftime, FHS led 30-20, and in the third quarter the Lady Lions scored eight points and Peebles added five points to their total, leaving the score 38-25 after three quarters.
Fairfield in the third frame had four made free throws by Quickle, a free throw from Henninger and three points scored by Meri Jackson.
In the final frame of the game, the Lady Lions scored 13 points, with Quickle making two two-pointers for four points, and also with four points was Miller, who also sank two baskets.
The fourth frame for Fairfield also had three points scored by Henninger, and Cannon made a basket for two points.
Peebles scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.
The final totals for Fairfield included 14 two-point baskets, four 3-pointers, and they went 11-of-19 from the free-throw line.
Fairfield was led in scoring by Miller with 14 points, followed by Quickle with 12 points.
Other FHS scoring included: Hale (7), Henninger (6), Cannon (4), Jackson (3), Stahlhut (3) and Clark (2).
Peebles was led in scoring by Abigail Smalley with 13 points. PHS totaled 11 two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and they went 7-of-14 from the free-throw line.
The win improves Fairfield’s SHAC Division II record to 3-7, with an overall record of 4-12. Peebles moves to 2-8 in the SHAC Division I standings, and 4-14 overall.

North Adams rallies in 4th quarter to defeat Whiteoak
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats held the lead after three quarters, but a strong fourth frame for the North Adams Lady Green Devils led them to a road SHAC victory over the host Lady ’Cats, 48-38 Monday night.
WHS led 12-11 after the first quarter, and following WHS scoring 11 points in the second and NAHS adding nine points, Whiteoak was left in front by one point at 22-21 when halftime arrived.
Whiteoak in the first frame had three 3-pointers with two from Addy Hauke and one from Charli Hauke, while Torie Potts had a two-point basket.
The second frame for the Lady ‘Cats had a 3-pointer from Charli Hauke, four points by Jillian Lucas (including a 3-pointer) and four points from Addison Roberts.
The Lady ’Cats had their third consecutive 11-point quarter with five points by Kylee Hamm, a two-point basket by Lucas and four points scored by Roberts off two baskets.
The third frame also saw North Adams score 11 points for a 33-32 Whiteoak lead after three frames.
In the fourth, North Adams scored 16 points and WHS had five points.
For WHS in the fourth quarter, Charli Hauke had a two-point basket, and Lucas scored three points.
Whiteoak was led in scoring by Lucas with nine points, making two two-pointers, one 3-pointer and she was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Charli Hauke finished with eight points by making one two-pointer and two 3-pointers.
Also with eight points was Roberts, as she totaled three two-pointers and she was 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Other final scoring for WHS included Addy Hauke (6), Hamm (5) and Potts (2).
North Adams was led by Katelynn Boerger with 14 points and Emma Pistole with 13 points.
WHS is now 10-2 in the SHAC Division II standings and 12-4 overall. NAHS is now 9-1 in the SHAC Division I standings and 14-3 overall.

Lady Indians win by 39 points over Chillicothe
Monday was a good start to the week for the Hillsboro Lady Indians, adding another frontier Athletic Conference win to their total by defeating the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers by 39 points at 61-22.
Hillsboro held a seven-point lead at 17-10 after the first quarter, and when halftime arrived it was HHS in front 36-1t as the Lady Indians outscored Chillicothe 19-7 in the second.
In the second half, Hillsboro added 21 points in the third, while they held CHS to five points in the same quarter, and the fourth quarter saw HHS win the frame 4-0.
Hillsboro’s leading scorers were Peighton Bledsoe and Tylee Davis with 16 points apiece. Bledsoe had six two-point baskets and was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Davis finished with four two-pointers and went 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Kyra Boyd totaled 15 points, making six two-point baskets and one 3-pointer. Kobie Miles finished with 10 points as she made three two-point buckets and was 4-of-4 in her free-throw attempts. HHS also had two points from Ella Jordan and two points by Annia Young.
Hillsboro’s win lifts them to an overall record of 16-2 with a FAC record of 8-1.
In JV play, HHS won 45-7. HHS JV was led by Annia Young with 16 points, followed by Dinah Ames and Taylor-Ann Scruggs with seven points apiece. HHS also had points from: Chanel Captain (6), Piper Wilkin (6), Kiara Boris (2) and Peyton Gobin (1).
